<official-title display="yes">To improve the accuracy of fur product labeling, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HDDF83BAC720D41F7B52EA72BF74540F6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Truth in Fur Labeling Act of 2010</short-title></quote>.</text> </section> 
<section id="H8D8424C760734D139D5A61F9745F7AE3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Elimination of exemption to fur product labeling requirements for products containing relatively small quantities or values of fur</header> 
<subsection id="HE9350DC35B7E422087CC36BE66EB6E9D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In General</header><text>Section 2(d) of the Fur Products Labeling Act (15 U.S.C. 69(d)) is amended by striking <quote>; except that</quote> and all that follows through <quote>contained therein</quote>.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="H45D3DD758ADA4B96B0C36825A16DD863"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective Date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </subsection></section> 
<section id="HBFF9AE32E5C848A491AC1FB706A741A1"><enum>3. </enum><header>Exemption for discrete sales by non-retailers</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3 of the Fur Products Labeling Act (15 U.S.C. 69a) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> 
<quoted-block style="traditional" id="HA2B2056B4B60409B8581E562151E8D30" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subsection id="H591BDCFBCD674921A9B20A4CFA4ACA69"><enum>(g)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No provision of this Act shall apply to a fur product—</text> 
<paragraph id="HCBAF112D1A634AC1B60EA7BD713A0FC3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the fur of which was obtained from an animal through trapping or hunting; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF2348C7A3993496B9404ECB293034189"><enum>(2)</enum><text>when sold in a face to face transaction at a place such as a residence, craft fair, or other location used on a temporary or short term basis, by the person who trapped or hunted the animal, where the revenue from the sale of apparel or fur products is not the primary source of income of such person.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> 
<section id="HF617991CC7674BD4AADA964108543D10"><enum>4.</enum><header>Federal trade commission review of fur products name guide</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Federal Trade Commission shall publish in the Federal Register notice of, and an opportunity to comment on, a review of the Fur Products Name Guide (16 CFR 301.0).</text></section> 
<section id="HBAB04AD193764B328C9039B5E5AD5448"><enum>5.</enum><header>PAYGO Compliance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The budgetary effects of this Act, for the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010, shall be determined by reference to the latest statement titled <quote>Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation</quote> for this Act, submitted for printing in the Congressional Record by the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, provided that such statement has been submitted prior to the vote on passage.</text> </section>
