		<official-title>To prohibit the transfer or possession of large capacity
		  ammunition feeding devices, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H35EB64FDAA394304B13844AD9D40E7A9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding
			 Device Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H3FEC032B2D824D4C8A489B6C875C5F67" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on
			 transfer or possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices</header>
			<subsection id="HFAC8DEF033E848B7A24D02F12147AAD2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 921(a) of title 18, United States
			 Code, is amended by inserting after paragraph (29) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC40CE4ED4D384D4C9E7582AE5297D7F2" style="USC">
					<paragraph id="H80951E19730A4661A10552FC35DA4D59"><enum>(30)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>large capacity ammunition
				feeding device</quote>—</text>
						<subparagraph id="HC568C8A51BF1424280442395E65596C7"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip,
				or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or
				converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition; but</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8CFE82F5F2C0418A92A2DE33EFFCAF24"><enum>(B)</enum><text>does not include
				an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only
				with, .22 caliber rimfire
				ammunition.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HA33F24200B6941039B297FAA3CD3C0B5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibitions</header><text>Section
			 922 of such title is amended by inserting after subsection (u) the
			 following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HEBCDA67372924AA3A166FF94C4EB0A51" style="USC">
					<subsection id="H2A5523E6C8024D1F96BB3BC84DA506A5"><enum>(v)</enum><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H934B9D22CA0C4637ACFB04EAD00FED8E"><enum>(1)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HC0F99CC485A54C1C86217874B3287B64"><enum>(A)</enum><clause commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H13D766ACF1724503AD31B37CD966978F"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Except as provided in clause (ii), it shall
				be unlawful for a person to transfer or possess a large capacity ammunition
				feeding device.</text>
								</clause><clause id="H461B17550C834217AD98DEB29BC31CD9" indent="up3"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Clause (i) shall not apply to the
				possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device otherwise lawfully
				possessed within the United States on or before the date of the enactment of
				this subsection.</text>
								</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6CCA047148174C7FA6E37825BF944DDB" indent="up2"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall be unlawful for any person to
				import or bring into the United States a large capacity ammunition feeding
				device.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H28A782B80ACC4F3DB9FD49FFE144408E" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Paragraph (1) shall not apply
				to—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H41D753790DFC4641B2D2D78EC8290FDC"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a
				manufacture for, transfer to, or possession by the United States or a
				department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency,
				or political subdivision of a State, or a transfer to or possession by a law
				enforcement officer employed by such an entity for purposes of law enforcement
				(whether on or off duty);</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H42FD0A991BF44EA5BD84E6233274FA5A"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a
				transfer to a licensee under title I of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 for
				purposes of establishing and maintaining an on-site physical protection system
				and security organization required by Federal law, or possession by an employee
				or contractor of such a licensee on-site for such purposes or off-site for
				purposes of licensee-authorized training or transportation of nuclear
				materials;</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HEAE2B5215DA345EFBCC2D6904233BF08"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the possession, by an individual who is
				retired from service with a law enforcement agency and is not otherwise
				prohibited from receiving ammunition, of a large capacity ammunition feeding
				device transferred to the individual by the agency upon that retirement;
				or</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB63679C4F80F444DBE5CE6B38B87BB7C"><enum>(D)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a
				manufacture, transfer, or possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding
				device by a licensed manufacturer or licensed importer for the purposes of
				testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney
				General.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFD326F03A7554085AAE1ADF284019FCA"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Penalties</header><text>Section
			 924(a) of such title is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H08B4F75A500A4F87B2372FF3A9F050FE" style="USC">
					<paragraph id="H83AD31168BC94A4184E7F8431B115285" indent="up1"><enum>(8)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Whoever knowingly violates section 922(v)
				shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or
				both.</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H775AA548170F43C8AF10C1B25AA10C10"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Identification
			 markings</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 923(i) of
			 such title is amended by adding at the end the following: <quote>A large
			 capacity ammunition feeding device manufactured after the date of the enactment
			 of this sentence shall be identified by a serial number that clearly shows that
			 the device was manufactured after such date of enactment, and such other
			 identification as the Attorney General may by regulation
			 prescribe.</quote>.</text>
