    <SUBJECT> Authorized representative.</SUBJECT>
    <P>
      <E T="03">Authorized representative</E> means the subordinate official to which a principal official has delegated authority to act on a particular matter or a class of matters. The Director, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is frequently the authorized representative of the Secretary of the Interior, as also may be a regional director or an officer in charge of a Service field installation.</P>
