    <SUBJECT>Food commodities.</SUBJECT>
    <P>(a) The Associate Director will assure that adequate stocks of food will be ready and conveniently available for emergency mass feeding or distribution in any area of the United States which suffers a major disaster or emergency.</P>
    <P>(b) In carrying out the responsibilities in paragraph (a) of this section, the Associate Director may direct the Secretary of Agriculture to purchase food commodities in accordance with authorities prescribed in section 413(b) of the Stafford Act.</P>
