                        MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE

  A message from the Senate by Ms. Curtis, one of its clerks, announced 
that the Senate has passed a bill of the following title in which the 
concurrence of the House is requested:

       S. 2803. An act to amend the Federal Mine Safety and Health 
     Act of 1977 to improve the safety of mines and mining.
