National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants:
Secondary Lead Smelting; Extension of Comment Period
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Proposed rule; extension of public comment period.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: On May 19, 2011, the EPA proposed amendments to the National
Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Secondary Lead
Smelting (76 FR 29032). The EPA is extending the deadline for written
comments on the proposed amendments by 21 days to July 26, 2011. The
EPA received a request for an extension from the Association of Battery
Recyclers (ABR). The ABR requested an extension in order to analyze
data and review the proposed amendments. The EPA finds this request to
be reasonable due to the significant changes the proposal would make to
the current rule.
