SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

I. Abstract

This request is for extension of a currently approved information
collection. Mokupapapa Discovery Center (Center) is an outreach arm of
Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument that reaches 65,000 people
each year in Hilo, Hawai`i. The Center was opened fifteen years ago to
help raise support for the creation of a National Marine Sanctuary in
the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Since that time, the area has been
proclaimed a Marine National Monument and the main messages we are
trying to share with the public have changed to better reflect the new
monument status, UNESCO World Heritage status and the joint management
by the three co-trustees of the Monument. We therefore are seeking to
find out if people visiting our Center are receiving our new messages
by conducting an optional exit survey.

II. Method of Collection

Surveys will be conducted by in-person interview as people exit the
Center. Interviewers will record responses on paper, and later transfer
them to an electronic database.

IV. Request for Comments

Comments are invited on: (a) whether the proposed collection of
information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of
the agency, including whether the information shall have practical
utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden
(including hours and cost) of the proposed collection of information;

information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the
collection of information on respondents, including through the use of

and/or included in the request for OMB approval of this information
collection; they also will become a matter of public record.
