AGENCY: National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: NARA is giving public notice that it has submitted to OMB for
approval the information collections described in this notice. We
invite you to comment on the proposed information collections pursuant
to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
DATES: OMB must receive written comments at the address below on or
before July 26, 2018.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of
1995 (Pub. L. 104-13), NARA invites the general public and other
Federal agencies to comment on proposed information collections. We
published a notice of proposed collection for these information
collections on March 19, 2018 (83 FR 13024) and on March 21, 2018 (83
FR 12413) and received no comments. We are therefore submitting these
collections to OMB for approval.
In response to this notice, comments and suggestions should address
one or more of the following points: (a) Whether the proposed
information collection is necessary for NARA to properly perform its
functions; (b) NARA's estimate of the burden of the proposed
information collection and its

accuracy; (c) ways NARA could enhance the quality, utility, and clarity
of the information it collects; (d) ways NARA could minimize the burden
on respondents of collecting the information, including the through
information technology; and (e) whether the collection affects small
businesses. In this notice, NARA solicits comments concerning the
following information collections:
1. Title: Selective Service System Record Request.
OMB number: 3095-0071.
Agency form numbers: NA Form 13172.
Type of review: Regular.
Affected public: Individuals or households.
Estimated number of respondents: 1,500.
Estimated time per response: 2 minutes.
Frequency of response: On occasion.
Estimated total annual burden hours: 50.
Abstract: The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) of the
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) administers the
Selective Service System (SSS) records. The SSS records contain both
classification records and registration cards of registrants born
before January 1, 1960. When registrants or other authorized
individuals request information from or copies of SSS records they must
provide on forms or letters certain information about the registrant
and the nature of the request. Requesters use NA Form 13172, Selective
Service Record Request to obtain information from SSS records stored at
NARA facilities.
2. Title: Use of NARA Official Seals and/or Logos.
OMB number: 3095-0052.
Agency form number: N/A.
Type of review: Regular.
Affected public: Business or other for-profit, Not-for-profit
institutions, Federal government.
Estimated number of respondents: 175.
Estimated time per response: 15 minutes.
Frequency of response: On occasion.
Estimated total annual burden hours: 44 hours.
Abstract: The authority for this information collection is
contained in 36 CFR 1200.8. NARA's three official seals are the
National Archives and Records Administration seal; the National
Archives seal; and the Nationals Archives Trust Fund Board seal. The
official seals are used to authenticate various copies of official
records in our custody and for other official NARA business.
Occasionally, when criteria are met, we will permit the public and
other Federal agencies to use our official seals. A written request
must be submitted to use the official seals, which we approve or deny
using specific criteria.
