accurate; (4) how might the Department enhance the quality, utility,
and clarity of the information to be collected; and (5) how might the
Department minimize the burden of this collection on the respondents,
including through the use of information technology. Please note that

Title of Collection: Common Core of Data (CCD) School-Level Finance
Survey (SLFS) 2018-2020.
OMB Control Number: 1850-0930.
Type of Review: A revision of an existing information collection.
Respondents/Affected Public: State, Local, and Tribal Governments.
Total Estimated Number of Annual Responses: 306.
Total Estimated Number of Annual Burden Hours: 4,938.
Abstract: The School-Level Finance Survey (SLFS) data collection is
conducted annually by the National Center for Education Statistics
(NCES), within the U.S. Department of Education (ED). SLFS complements
two existing data collections conducted by NCES in collaboration with
the U.S. Census Bureau (Census): The School District Finance Survey (F-
33) and the state-level National Public Education Financial Survey
(NPEFS). SLFS expands F-33 to include its finance variables at the
school level. Beginning with FY18, the SEAs will report total current
expenditures at the school level in the same manner as for the district
level on F-33. This request is to conduct in 2019 through 2021 SLFS for
fiscal years 2018 through 2020 (corresponding to school years 2017/18
through 2019/20) and to expand the collected data to be analogous to
the current ESSA expenditures per pupil provision.
Dated: August 10, 2018.
Kate Mullan,
Acting Director, Information Collection Clearance Division, Office of
the Chief Privacy Officer, Office of Management.
