CHIEF OF STAFF

As Chief of Staff, Maria S. Lefevre directs strategic planning for the U.S. Government Printing Office and advises the Public Printer on all aspects of GPO’s business.

Biography

Lefevre arrived at GPO in 2004 as Deputy Chief of Staff. Lefevre provides oversight to executive offices and works with the Chief of Staff in the strategic planning process and other related functions.

Lefevre’s Congressional experience makes her a valuable asset to the GPO as Congress is one of the agency’s most important customers. Prior to joining GPO, she served as the Staff Director for the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP) while working as the Policy Director for the Administration Committee in the House of Representatives. The principal purpose of the JCP is to provide daily oversight of GPO operations. As the Policy Director, Lefevre oversaw, managed and formulated policy issues for the committee. She also supervised the Office of Members’ Service (OMS) and worked with Members of Congress and top aides regarding Members’ concerns with the operations of the House. Lefevre also served as Legislative Director and Legislative Assistant for a Member of Congress.

She received her Bachelors of Science in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 1997.
