MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--S.J. RES. 14

Mr. DURBIN. Mr. President, I understand that S.J. Res. 14, introduced
earlier today, is at the desk. I ask for its first reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the joint resolution by
title for the first time.
The legislative clerk read as follows:

A joint resolution (S.J. Res. 14) expressing the sense of
the Senate that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales no longer
holds the confidence of the Senate and of the American
     people.

Mr. DURBIN. Mr. President, I now ask for its second reading, and I
object to my own request.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection having been heard, the joint
resolution will receive its second reading on the next legislative day.
