Mr. Conyers moves that the Committee make the following
requests of the Office of Independent Counsel:
1. To provide to the Committee all of the materials
submitted to the United States Courts of Appeals for
the District of Columbia Circuit, Division for the
Purpose of Appointing Independent Counsels, including
the ``Ex Parte Motion for approval of Disclosure of
Matters Occurring Before a Grand Jury,'' in connection
with the July 7, 1998 order issued by that division
permitting ``disclosure of all grand jury material that
the independent counsel deems necessary to comply with
the requirements of 595(c).''
2. To provide to the Committee all of the materials,
including any notes and briefing presented or submitted
to the Attorney general of the United States in support
of the request for expanded jurisdiction that it
received on January 16, 1998. In addition, the
Committee requests that it be provided with a list of
all OIC personnel who were present during the
presentation to the Attorney General and/or her staff
in support of the request for expanded jurisdiction.
3. To permit the members of the Committee on the
Judiciary, along with designated staff, to inspect all
other materials relating to the investigation conducted
by the Office of Independent Counsel pursuant to the
expanded jurisdiction granted it by the Attorney
General of the United States on January 16, 1998.
4. To provide to the Committee all of the notes, and
rought drafts generated by the OIC in connection with
the interviews, depositions, and grand jury transcripts
included in the referral submitted to Congress pursuant
to 28 U.S.C. Sec. 595(c).
