Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. PROHIBITION ON LIMITING ABILITY OF GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES TO CHARGE FEES FOR HONORING CREDIT CARDS. (a) Prohibition.--Chapter 2 of the Truth in Lending Act (15 U.S.C. 1631 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following: ``Sec. 138. Prohibition on limiting ability of governmental agencies to charge fees for honoring credit cards ``A card issuer shall not prohibit or otherwise limit the ability of Federal, State, or local governmental agencies to assess and collect from the user of a credit card issued by the card issuer a fee for honoring the credit card.''. (b) Clerical Amendment.--The table of sections at the beginning of that chapter is amended by adding at the end the following: ``138. Prohibition on limiting ability of governmental agencies to charge fees for honoring credit cards.''. <all>
