  To amend the District of Columbia Self-Government and Governmental 
   Reorganization Act to provide for the appointment of the ranking 
 members of the Committee on the District of Columbia of the House of 
 Representatives and the Subcommittee on General Services, Federalism, 
 and the District of Columbia of the Committee on Governmental Affairs 
       of the Senate to the National Capital Planning Commission.

 introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on 
                        the District of Columbia

                                 A BILL


 
  To amend the District of Columbia Self-Government and Governmental 
   Reorganization Act to provide for the appointment of the ranking 
 members of the Committee on the District of Columbia of the House of 
 Representatives and the Subcommittee on General Services, Federalism, 
 and the District of Columbia of the Committee on Governmental Affairs 
       of the Senate to the National Capital Planning Commission.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. APPOINTMENT OF RANKING MEMBERS OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA 
              COMMITTEES TO NATIONAL CAPITAL PLANNING COMMISSION.

    (a) In General.--Section 2(b) of the Act entitled ``An Act 
providing for a comprehensive development of the park and playground 
system of the National Capital, approved June 6, 1924 (sec. 1-2002(b), 
D.C. Code), is amended by inserting ``and ranking members'' after 
``chairmen''.
    (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall 
take effect 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
