R. 4972 To amend the Public Buildings Act of 1959 to ensure that any lease entered into by a Federal agency for office, meeting, storage, and other space necessary to carry out the functions of the Federal agency shall be subject to the leasing requirements of the Public Buildings Act of 1959. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES August 16, 1994 Mr. Traficant introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Public Works and Transportation _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the Public Buildings Act of 1959 to ensure that any lease entered into by a Federal agency for office, meeting, storage, and other space necessary to carry out the functions of the Federal agency shall be subject to the leasing requirements of the Public Buildings Act of 1959. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 7 of the Public Buildings Act of 1959 (40 U.S.C. 606) is amended by adding at the end the following: ``(g) Applicability to Leases of Federal Agencies.--The provisions of this section and sections 11 and 12 of this Act shall apply to any lease of space by a Federal agency in the same manner and to the same extent as such provisions would apply if such space were being leased by the Administrator; except that certain functions which the Administrator would carry out under such provisions if such space were being leased by the Administrator shall be carried out by the Federal agency.''. <all>
