 Mr. Domenici introduced the following bill; which was read twice and 
               referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

                                 A BILL


 
     To provide for programs for the prosecution of driving while 
 intoxicated charges to be included in the Edward Byrne Memorial State 
             and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED PROSECUTION PROGRAM.

    Section 501(b) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 (42 U.S.C. 3751) is amended--
            (1) in paragraph (20) by striking out ``and'' at the end 
        thereof;
            (2) in paragraph (21) by striking out the period and 
        inserting in lieu thereof a semicolon and ``and''; and
            (3) by adding at the end thereof the following new 
        paragraph:
            ``(22) programs for the prosecution of driving while 
        intoxicated charges and the enforcement of other laws relating 
        to alcohol use and the operation of motor vehicles.''.
