Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. STUDY OF LAND EXCHANGE OPTIONS, SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, SOUTH CAROLINA. Section 2874 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (Public Law 104-106; 110 Stat. 583) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: ``(g) Study of Exchange Options.--To facilitate the use of a land exchange to acquire the real property described in subsection (a), the Secretary of the Air Force shall conduct a study to identify real property in the possession of the Air Force (located in the State of South Carolina or elsewhere) that satisfies the requirements of subsection (b)(2), is acceptable to the party holding the property to be acquired, and is otherwise suitable for exchange under this section. Not later than three months after the date of the enactment of this subsection, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report containing the results of the study.''. <all>
