   To reduce the number of Federal judgeships for the U.S. Court of 
             Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Stop Court-Packing Act''.

SEC. 2. REDUCTION OF FEDERAL JUDGESHIPS FOR U.S. COURT OF APPEALS FOR 
              THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CIRCUIT.

    The table contained in section 44(a) of title 28, United States 
Code, is amended in the item relating to the District of Columbia 
circuit court of appeals, by striking ``11'' and inserting ``8''.
