                           TEXT OF AMENDMENTS

  SA 3393. Mr. CLELAND submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
to amendment SA 3386 proposed by Mr. Daschle to the bill (H.R. 3009) to 
extend the Andean Trade Preference Act, to grant additional trade 
benefits under that Act, and for other purposes; which was ordered to 
lie on the table; as follows:

       Section 204(b)(5)(B) of the Andean Trade Preference Act, as 
     amended by section 3102, is amended by inserting the 
     following new clauses:
       ``(iii) The extent to which the country complies with the 
     Agreement on Agriculture (including Article 4) described in 
     section 101(d)(2) of the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (19 
     U.S.C. 3511(d)(2)).
       ``(iv) The extent to which the country complies with its 
     obligation under the Agreement on the Implementation of 
     Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 
     1994, described in section 101(d)(8) of the Uruguay Round 
     Agreements Act (19 U.S.C. 3511(d)(8)).''
