  Mr. GUTIEERREZ. Mr. Speaker, I was unavoidably absent in the House 
chamber for votes on Monday, April 28, 2014.
  Had I been present, I would have voted ``yea'' on rollcall vote 178, 
and ``yea'' on rollcall vote 179.
  I was also absent for the following votes on Wednesday, April 30, 
2014 and May 1, 2014 to participate in immigration events. Had I been 
present, I would have voted ``nay'' on rollcall vote 184, ``yea'' on 
rollcall vote 185, ``yea'' on rollcall vote 186, and ``yea'' on 
rollcall vote 187 in support of final passage of the Military 
Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations 
Act.
  On May 1, 2014, I would like the record to show that had I been 
present, I would have voted, ``nay'' on rollcall vote 188, ``nay'' on 
rollcall vote 189, ``nay'' on rollcall vote 190, ``nay'' on rollcall 
vote 191, and ``yea'' on rollcall vote 192. Finally, had I been present 
I would have voted ``yea'' on rollcall vote 193 in support of final 
passage of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act.
