Through an amendment of the Older Americans Act, RSVP began as a nationwide program in 1969. The Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Chapter has been active since 1973. With over 1,300 active volunteers assisting 300 non-profit organizations in Montgomery County, RSVP has become an invaluable resource. Their dedication to the community has greatly enhanced and contributed to an improved quality of life for thousands of citizens living in Montgomery County. Madam Speaker, I ask that my colleagues join me today in thanking RSVP for their exemplary service to the citizens of Montgomery County. May their work be an inspiration to us all. ____________________
