                      Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Ms. EDWARDS of Maryland. Madam Speaker, I rise today in recognition
of a new postgraduate educational program in dentistry of the United
States Air Force. The Uniformed Services University of the Health
Sciences, USUHS, and the United States Air Force, USAF, Dental Service
have collaborated to provide a Master of Science in Oral Biology. The
recently accredited USAF Postgraduate School of Dentistry is a unique
partnership between USUHS and the 59th Medical Wing at Wilford Hall
Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The newly established
Air Force postgraduate educational program in dentistry will give our
airmen and women the opportunity to receive an accredited master's
degree in oral biology for the first time in its history. The
initiative was spearheaded by Major General Gar S. Graham, Assistant
Surgeon General for Dental Services and Commander of the 79th Medical
Wing at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. This is another step towards
fulfilling our commitment to providing our servicemembers with the
educational opportunities they deserve. The class of summer 2010 will
be the first class eligible to receive this prestigious degree through
USUHS.
