    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
463, as amended), the National Science Foundation (NSF) announces the 
following meeting:

    Name: Special Emphasis Panel in Chemical and Thermal Systems.
    Date and Time: April 25, 1993; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Place: NSF, room 380, 4201 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA.
    Agenda: Review and Evaluate nominations for the NSF Research 
Initiation Awards Programs.
    Contact Person: Dr. Milton Linevsky, Program Director, (703)

    Purpose of Meeting: To provide advice and recommendation to the 
Division of Chemical and Thermal Systems concerning proposals 
submitted to the Division for financial support.
    Type of Meeting: Closed.
    Reason for Closing: The nominations and proposals being reviewed 
include information of a proprietary or confidential nature, 
including technical information; financial data, such as salaries; 
and personal information concerning individuals associated with the 
nominations and proposals. These matters are exempt under 5 USC 
552b(c)(4) and (6) of the Government in the Sunshine Act.
