ACTION: Notice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In accordance with section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463), announcement is made of the following committee meeting: Name of Committee: Coastal Engineering Research Board (CERB). Date of Meeting: June 7-9, 1994. Place: U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station's Coastal Engineering Research Center, Vicksburg, Mississippi. Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 7; 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 8; 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on June 9. Theme: Coastal Research and Development (R&D). Proposed Agenda: The morning session on June 7 will consist of a report of Chief of Engineers' initiatives and action items from the previous meeting; a presentation on the history of CERC/CERB/CERC Today and CERC 21; and a presentation on the Civil Works R&D Programs. Immediately after lunch, there will be a tour of models in the J.V. Hall Building. After the tour, the meeting will reconvene and presentations will include CERC Programs; Coastal R&D Programs; Duck 94; Sandy Duck; Coastal Inlets Research Program; and Monitoring Completed Coastal Projects, Coastal Field Data Collection Program. A tour of the Prototype Measurement and Analysis Branch Building will conclude the first day's activities. The morning of June 8 will consist of presentations including Military Coastal Work, Scanning Hydrographic Operational Airborne Lidar Survey, Dredging Research Programs and Dredging Operations and Environmental Research, Coastal Environmentally Related Work, and Civil Reimbursable Work. A tour of hydraulic models will follow lunch. After the tour, the meeting will reconvene, and presentations will include Numerical Modeling and a Summary and Future Directions. June 9 will be devoted to the recommendations of the CERB. This meeting is open to the public; participation by the public is scheduled for 9:40 a.m. on June 9. The entire meeting is open to the public subject to the following: 1. Since seating capacity of the meeting room is limited, advance notice of intent to attend, although not required, is requested in order to assure adequate arrangements. 2. Oral participation by public attendees is encouraged during the time scheduled on the agenda; written statements may be submitted prior to the meeting or up to 30 days after the meeting.
