Southwestern Railroad Company, Inc.--Acquisition Exemption--The 
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company

AGENCY: Interstate Commerce Commission.
ACTION: Notice of exemption.
SUMMARY: The Commission, under 49 U.S.C. 10505, exempts from the prior 
approval requirements of 49 U.S.C. 11343, et seq., the acquisition and 
operation by Southwestern Railroad Company, Inc., of approximately 
24.85 miles of rail line between milepost 30 + 2972 feet at Whitewater, 
NM, and milepost 5 + 3763 feet at Black Mountain Siding, NM, from The 
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, subject to standard 
employee protective conditions.

DATES: This exemption is effective on May 5, 1994. Petitions to stay 
must be filed by May 2, 1994, and petitions to reopen must be filed by 
May 18, 1994.
