ACTION: Announcement of funding awards. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989, this announcement notifies the public of funding award decisions made by the Department under the Section 8 Community Investment Demonstration Program for FY 1994. SUMMARY INFORMATION: The Section 8 Community Investment Demonstration Program is authorized by section 6 of the HUD Demonstration Act of 1993 (Pub. L. 103-120, approved October 27, 1993). The Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) announcing the availability of $100,000,000 in FY 1994 section 8 budget authority for a Community Investment Demonstration Program was published in the Federal Register on April 26, 1994 (59 FR 21826). The purpose of the competition was to award set-asides to attract pension fund investment in affordable housing through the use of project-based rental assistance under section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937. Applications were scored and selected to receive set-asides on the basis of selection criteria contained in the NOFA. A total of $100 million has been awarded to six pension funds.
