The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission) has received an application for new license (relicense) from Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NiMO), the current owner and operator of the Beaver River Project. The project consists of eight existing hydropower developments located on the Beaver River in the towns of Webb (Herkimer County), Watson and Croghan (Lewis County), New York. (NiMO filed an application for the Beaver River Project on November 29, 1991. The Commission staff is in the process of reviewing the application. As part of this review, site visits to the eight developments that comprise the project will be held during a three day period, December 5, 6 and 7, 1994. The purpose of these site visits is for interested persons to observe existing area resources and site conditions and discuss project operational procedures and proposed enhancements with representatives of NiMO and the Commission.
