The meeting will take place at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott Hotel, located on Dulles Airport property directly off Friday, December 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meeting room will be listed on the meeting board inside the front entrance. The Commission invites whistleblowers and witnesses in alleged scientific misconduct cases and/or counsel who have advised them to present their views in person or in writing on the strengths and weaknesses of the ways in which the Public Health Service (PHS) and institutions pursue such allegations. On the second day, the Commission will continue its discussion of specific issues in scientific misconduct and the promotion of the responsible conduct of research. The mandate of the Commission is to develop recommendations for the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Congress on the administration of Section 493 of the PHS Act, as amended by and added to, by Section 161 of the NIH Revitalization Act of 1993.
