ACTION: Notice of committee meeting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda of a meeting of the Committee on Partnerships and Outreach, Educational Research Policy and Priorities Board. This notice also describes the functions of the Committee. Notice of this meeting is required under Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act and is intended to notify the public of their opportunity to attend. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The National Educational Research Policy and Priorities Board is authorized by Section 921 of the Educational Research, Development, Dissemination, and Improvement Act of 1994 (the Act). The Board works collectively with the Assistant Secretary for the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (the Office) to forge a national consensus with respect to a long-term agenda for educational research, development, and dissemination, and to provide advice and assistance to the Assistant Secretary in administering the duties of the Office. The Act directs the Board to provide a guidance to the Congress in its oversight of the Office; to advise the United States on the Federal educational research and development effort; and to solicit advice from practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to define research needs and suggestions for research topics. The Board has designated the Committee to work on its behalf in these matters in the interim between full meetings of the Board. The meeting of the Committee on Partnerships and Outreach is open to the public. The agenda for the meeting includes discussions about strengthening linkages with representatives of research, practitioner, and policy-making communities so that research findings can improve practice. A final agenda will be available from the Board's office on July 28, 1995.
