Notice of Floodplain and Wetlands Involvement for the Anderson
Ranch Wildlife Management Plan

AGENCY: Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), DOE.

ACTION: Notice of floodplain and wetlands involvement.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: BPA proposes to fund the development and implementation of the
Anderson Ranch Wildlife Management Plan in a cooperative effort with
the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Bureau
of Land Management, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, and the Shoshone-
Paiute Tribes. The proposed action would allow the sponsors to secure
long-term agreements with public and private landowners to protect and
enhance a variety of wetland and riparian habitats in the Anderson
Ranch Wildlife Management area within various parts of Camas, Elmore,
Gooding, Lincoln, Blaine, Washington, and Ada Counties, Idaho.
In accordance with DOE regulations for compliance with floodplain
and wetlands environmental review requirements (10 CFR Part 1022), BPA
will prepare a floodplain and wetlands assessment and will perform this
proposed action in a manner so as to avoid or minimize potential harm
to or within the affected floodplain and wetlands.
The assessment will be included in the environmental assessment
(EA) being prepared for the proposed project in accordance with the
requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. A floodplain
statement of findings will be included in any finding of no significant
impact that may be issued following the completion of the EA.

approximately 9,211 hectares (22,760 acres).
