ACTION: Notice of public hearing and request for comments. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) is authorized to support research and related activities to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities, and is required to develop a Long-Range Plan for rehabilitation research. NIDRR invites interested parties to present comments at a public hearing on research and training needs and opportunities during the coming decade in all areas of disability. The Hearing will be organized into four sessions: (1) Technology and Medical Rehabilitation Research; (2) Employment Research; (3) Living Independently in the Community; and (4) Capacity-Building in Research and Rehabilitation Services. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain ideas from the public on the content and direction of a new NIDRR Long-Range Plan. NIDRR encourages interested parties to attend a public meeting.
