The applicant requests a permit to take (capture, handle and release, and translocate specimens) Higgins' eye pearly mussel (Lampsilis higginsi) throughout the Upper Mississippi River basin above river mile 360. Proposed activities are expected to result in population status information that will be useful in recovery of the species and in avoiding impacts to species when completing projects that impact the riverine habitat.
