Sec. 50.7, notice is hereby given that a consent decree in United States of America v. Robert V. Spiller, CV-96-1010 (W.D. La.), was lodged with the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on April 23, 1996. The proposed decree concerns alleged violations of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. Sec. 1311, as a result of the discharge of fill materials onto approximately 7.2 acres of wetlands by Roger V. Spiller (``Spiller''), near New Iberia, Louisiana. The Consent Decree provides for the payment of a $2,000.00 civil penalty to the United States and requires partial restoration of the violation site in accord with a partial restoration plan approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (``EPA''). The Department of Justice will receive written comments relating to the consent decree for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of this notice. Comments should be addressed to the Assistant Attorney General, Environment and Natural Resources Division, U.S. Department of Justice, Attention: John A. Sheehan, Environmental Defense Section, P.O. Box 23986, Washington, D.C. 20026-3986, and should refer to United States v. Spiller, DJ Reference No. 90-5-1-1-4132.
