Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America; Notice of Proposed 
Changes in FERC Gas Tariff

May 6, 1996.
    Take notice that on May 1, 1996, Natural Gas Pipeline Company of 
America (Natural) tendered for filing proposed changes in its FERC Gas 
Tariff, Sixth Revised Volume No. 1 and Second Revised Volume No. 2, to 
become effective June 1, 1996.
    Natural states that the purpose of this filing is to remove from 
its rates the cost of service effect of $8,468,644 of deferred take-or-
pay costs. Such costs will be fully amortized by May 31, 1996, pursuant 
to the settlement approved July 25, 1991 in Docket Nos. RP91-22-000, et 
al.
    Natural requests waiver of the Commission's Regulations to the 
extent necessary to permit the tariff sheets submitted to become 
effective June 1, 1996.
    Natural states that copies of the filing are being mailed to all 
parties on the restricted service list in the referenced dockets.
    Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., 
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestant parties to 
the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
