Title: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Household Report. Description: The report is an annual activity which is required by law of LIHEAP grantees for receipt of federal LIHEAP block grant funds. Statistics are to be reported for the previous federal fiscal year on the number and income levels of LIHEAP applicants and assisted households, and the number of LIHEAP assisted households with at least one member who is elderly, [[Page 37752]] disabled, or a young child. The information is being collected for the Department's annual LIHEAP report to Congress and is used to provide information about the need for and use of LIHEAP funds. The information may also may be used as performance measures under the Government Performance Results Act of 1993. Respondents: State Governments, Tribal Governments and Territories. Copies of the proposed collection of information can be obtained and comments may be forwarded by writing to the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Information Services, Division of Information Resource Management Services, 370 L'Enfant Promenade, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20447, Attn: ACF Reports Clearance Officer. All requests should be identified by the title of the information collection. The Department specifically requests comments on: (a) whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of information; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology.
