[Docket No. RP95-271-005]

Transwestern Pipeline Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in FERC
Gas Tariff

October 18, 1996.
Take notice that on October 11, 1996 Transwestern Pipeline Company
(Transwestern) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff,
Second Revised Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets, with a
proposed effective date of November 1, 1996:

1st Revised Sheet No. 5B.02

Transwestern states that the purpose of this filing is to revise
the Shared Cost Surcharge rate for certain Current Customers as stated
in footnote number 10 on Original Sheet 5B.02. This change is based on
a one-time election by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and
Santa Fe Resources Inc., (Santa Fe) to have their Shared Cost Surcharge
calculated in accordance with Option 2 of Section II(B) of the
Settlement. The election by these two Current Customers, because of the
terms of Section II(B), will also change the Shared Cost Surcharge rate
for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas).
Transwestern states that copies of the filing were served on its
gas utility customers, interested state commissions, and all parties to
this proceeding.
Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E.,
Washington, D.C., 20426, in accordance with Rule 211 of the
Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. All such protests must be
filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations.
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants
parties to the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the
Commission and are available for public inspection.
Lois D. Cashell,
Secretary.
