3.5'' Microdisks and Coated Media Thereof From Japan; Termination
of Antidumping Duty Administrative Review

AGENCY: Import Administration, International Trade Administration,
Department of Commerce.

ACTION: Notice of termination of antidumping duty administrative
review.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: On May 24, 1996 (61 FR 26158), in response to a request from
Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, and Fuji Photo Film U.S.A.,
Inc., collectively referred to as Fuji, and the respondents in the
above-mentioned case, the Department of Commerce (the Department)
initiated an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on
3.5'' microdisks and coated media thereof from Japan. In accordance
with 19 CFR 353.22(a)(5) of our regulations, the Department is now
terminating this review because Fuji has withdrawn its request for
review.

EFFECTIVE DATE: January 24, 1997.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Dana Mermelstein or Russell Morris,
Office of CVD/AD Enforcement VI, Import Administration, International

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

Background

On April 29, 1996, the Department received a request for an
administrative review of this antidumping duty order from Fuji for the
period April 1, 1995, through March 31, 1996. No other interested party
requested a review of the antidumping duty order. On May 24, 1996, the
Department published in the Federal Register (61 FR 26158) a notice of
``Initiation of Antidumping Duty Administrative Review'' initiating the
administrative review of Fuji for that period. On January 9, 1997, Fuji
withdrew its request for review.
Section 353.22(a)(5) of the Department's regulations stipulates
that the Secretary may permit a party that requests a review to
withdraw the request not later than 90-days after the date of
publication of notice of initiation of the requested review. This
regulation also provides that the Secretary may extend the time limit
for withdrawal of a request if it is reasonable to do so. Because no
significant work has been completed on this review, the aforementioned
request for withdrawal does not unduly burden the Department.
Therefore, under the circumstances presented in this review, we are
waiving the 90-day requirement in Sec. 353.22(a)(5). Accordingly, we
are terminating this review.
This notice is published in accordance with 19 CFR 353.22(a)(5).

    Dated: January 17, 1997.
Jeffery P. Bialos,
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, for Import Administration.
