Radio Broadcasting Services; New Albany, MS

AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.

ACTION: Proposed rule.

SUMMARY: The Commission requests comments on a petition filed by George 
G. Callicut requesting the allotment of Channel 268A to New Albany, 
Mississippi, as the community's third FM service. Channel 268A can be 
allotted to New Albany in compliance with the Commission's minimum 
distance separation requirements with a site restriction 5.5 kilometers 
(3.4 miles) northwest in order to avoid a short-spacing conflict with 
the licensed operation of Station WFTA-FM, Channel 270C2, Fulton, 
Mississippi. The coordinates for Channel 268A at New Albany are 34-31-
14 NL and 89-03-03 WL.

DATES: Comments must be filed on or before December 29, 1997, and reply 
comments on or before January 13, 1998.

    Provisions of the Regulatory Flexibility Act of 1980 do not apply 
to this proceeding.
