This draft guide is being developed to describe methods acceptable to the NRC staff for complying with the NRC's regulations with regard to quality assurance requirements when using a sampling plan for dedicating simple metallic commercial grade items for unrestricted use in nuclear power plants. The Nuclear Energy Institute has requested a 60-day extension of the comment period. The NRC hereby grants NEI's request and extends the comment period from December 1, 1997, to January 30, 1998. Written comments may be submitted to the Rules and Directives Branch, Office of Administration, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555. Copies of comments received may be examined at the NRC Public Document Room, 2120 L Street, NW., Washington, DC.
