Bangor Hydro-Electric Company; Notice of Site Visit to Project 
Area

February 18, 1998.
    On February 27, 1998, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission 
staff has scheduled a site visit to the Milford Project (Project No. 
2534), located on the Penobscot River and Stillwater Branch of the 
Penobscot River in the Towns of Milford and Old Town in Penosbscot 
County, Maine. The Milford Project consists of two dams: Milford dam 
and powerhouse located on the main stem of the Penobscot River about 
1.6 miles upstream from the Great Works Project (Project No. 2312) and 
Gilman Falls dam about 3 miles upstream of the Stillwater Project on 
the Stillwater Branch of the Penobscot River. The project impoundment 
extends upstream from Milford and Gilman Falls dams for about 3 miles 
and is about 235 acres. The site visit is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
