Description of the Need for the Information and Its Proposed Use: These standards establish the acceptability of properties for mortgage insurance and will further the goal of a decent and a suitable living environment for every American family. These standards will protect the Department's interest by requiring certain features of design and construction not normally required by State and local codes.
