ACTION: Reopening of comment period. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: EPA is reopening the comment period for the proposed rule entitled ``Revocation of Tolerances for Canceled Food Uses'' that was published in the Federal Register of February 5, 1998. One commenter, the European Union, requested additional time to make an analysis. In response, the Agency is reopening the comment period until May 5, 1998. The original comment period closed April 6, 1998. DATES: Written comments must be received on or before May 5, 1998. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: I. Background In the Federal Register of February 5, 1998 (63 FR 5907) (FRL-5743- 9), EPA issued a proposed rule to revoke tolerances for canceled food uses. The original due date for comments to the proposed rule was April 6, 1998. EPA is extending the comment period until May 5, 1998 because EPA received a request for an extension due to the need to collect specific information that may be responsive to the proposal. II. Public Record and Electronic Submissions The official record for the rulemaking, as well as the public version, has been established for the rulemaking under docket control number ``OPP-300602A'' (including comments and data submitted electronically as described below).
