NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION

[Docket No. 50-315]

Indiana Michigan Power Company; Notice of Withdrawal of
Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted
the request of Indiana Michigan Power Company (the licensee) to
withdraw its August 4, 1995, application for proposed amendment to
Facility Operating License No. DPR-58, for the Donald C. Cook Nuclear
Plant, Unit Nos. 1, located in Berrien County, Michigan.
The proposed amendment would have revised the technical
specifications to allow for repair of hybrid expansion joint sleeved
steam generator tubes.
The Commission had previously issued a Notice of Consideration of
Issuance of Amendment published in the Federal Register on January 29,
1997 (62 FR 4351). However, by letter dated January 6, 1998, the
licensee withdrew the proposed change.
For further details with respect to this action, see the
application for amendment dated August 4, 1995, and the licensee's
letter dated January 6, 1998, which withdrew the application for
license amendment. The above documents are available for public
inspection at the Commission's Public Document Room, the Gelman
Building, 2120 L Street, NW., Washington, DC, and at the local public
document room located at the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library,
500 Market Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Dated at Rockville, Maryland, this 15th day of June 1998.

    For the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
John F. Stang,
Senior Project Manager, Project Directorate III-3, Division of Reactor
Projects--III/IV, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
