Summary The following change has occurred since the publication of the last notice regarding the State's EB status:May 16, 1998 Alaska's 13-week insured unemployment rate for the week ending May 16, 1998, fell below 6.0 percent and was less than 120 percent of the average for the corresponding period for the prior two years, causing Alaska to trigger ``off'' EB effective June 7, 1998. In the case of a State beginning an EB period, the State employment security agency will furnish a written notice of potential entitlement to each individual who has exhausted all rights to regular benefits and is potentially eligible for EB (20 CFR 615.13(c)(1)). In the case of a State ending an EB period, the State employment security agency will furnish a written notice of the EB period and its effect on individual rights to EB (20 CFR 615.13(c)(4)) to each individual who is filing a claim for EB. Persons who believe they may be entitled to EB, or who wish to inquire about their rights under the programs, should contact the nearest State employment service office or unemployment compensation claims office in their locality.
