    d. Submitted By: Pacific Gas and Electric Company, current 
licensee.
    e. Name of Project: Pit No. 3, 4, and 5.
    f. Location: On the Pit River, in Shasta County, California. 
Several project facilities are within the Shasta-Trinity and Lassen 
National Forests.
    g. Filed Pursuant to: Section 15 of the Federal Power Act, 18 CFR 
16.6 of the Commission's regulations.
    h. Effective date of original license: February 1, 1981.
    i. Expiration date of original license: October 31, 2003.
    j. The project consists of the Pit No. 3, Pit No. 4, and Pit No. 5 
developments, each consisting of a dam and reservoir, a tunnel and 
penstock, a powerhouse, and a transmission line. The project has a 
total installed capacity of 317,000 kilowatts.
    k. Pursuant to 18 CFR 16.7, information on the project is available

    m. Pursuant to 18 CFR 16.9(b)(1) each application for a new license 
and any competing license applications must be filed with the 
Commission at least 24 months prior to the expiration of the existing 
license. All applications for license for this project must be filed by 
October 31, 2001.
