Extension of an Experimental Use Permit
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: EPA has granted an experimental use permit to the following
applicant. The permit is in accordance with, and subject to, the
provisions of 40 CFR part l72, which defines EPA procedures with
respect to the use of pesticides for experimental use purposes.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: EPA has issued the following experimental
use permit:
264-EUP-117. Extension. Rhone-Poulenc AG Company, P.O. Box 12014, 2
T.W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. This
experimental use permit allows the use of 75 pounds of the insecticide
Regent 2.5 EC Insecticide on 250 acres of cotton on a crop destruct
basis to evaluate the control of key pests of cotton. The program is
authorized only in the States of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas,
California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. The
experimental use permit was previously effective from April 24, 1998 to
April 24, 1999; the experimental use permit is now effective from April
24, 1999 to April 24, 2000. This permit is issued with the limitation
that all treated crops will be destroyed or used for research purposes
only.
Persons wishing to review this experimental use permit are referred
to the designated contact person. Inquires concerning this permit
should be directed to the person cited above. It is suggested that
interested persons call before visiting the EPA office, so that the
appropriate file may be made available for inspection purposes from 8
a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays.
