Western Pacific Fishery Management Council; Public Meeting

AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and 
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.

ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: The Western Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) will 
hold a meeting of its Native and Indigenous Rights Advisory Panel.

DATES: The meeting will be held on April 19 and 20, 1999, from 8:30 
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This orientation meeting of the Native and 
Indigenous Rights Advisory Panel will review sections of the Magnuson-
Stevens Act pertaining to the Western Pacific Community Development 
Program and Demonstration Projects, past actions of the Western Pacific 
Council which relate to indigenous fishing practices and access to 
fisheries and possible future actions of the Council such as a 
Community Development Program for the Hawaii Mau Zone bottomfish 
fishery.
    Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before 
this group for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens 
Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the 
subject of formal action during this meeting. Action will restricted to 
those issues specifically listed in this notice.
