OMB approval is being sought for the information collection listed below. The proposed information collection is published to obtain comments from the public and affected agencies. If granted, the emergency approval is only valid for 180 days. During the first 60 days of this same review period, a regular review of this information collection is also being undertaken. Public Law 105-119, November 26, 1997, Making Appropriations for the Departments of Commerce, Justice and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies for the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 1998, and for other Purposes (Appropriations Act) appropriated $250,000,000 for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grants (JAIBG) described in Title III of H.R. 3, as passed by the House of Representatives on May 8, 1997. (5) An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond/reply: Fifty-six (56) respondents will complete a 1-hour follow-up information form for each unit of local government receiving JAIBG funds and on funds retained by the State for program expenditure. (6) An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated with the collection: The total hour burden to complete the information form will range from one (1) to 75 hours based on the number of units of local government receiving JAIBG funds and on funds retained by the State for program expenditure.
