Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request; Contraception and 
Infertility Research Loan Repayment Program (CIR-LRP)

SUMMARY: Under the provisions of Section 3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork 
Reduction Act of 1995, the National Institute of Child Health and Human 
Development, (NICHD), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has 
submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) a request to 
review and approve the information on collection listed below. This 
proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal 
Register on July 30, 1999, page 41445 and allowed 60 days for public 
comment. No public comments were received. The purpose of this notice 
is to allow and additional 30 days for public comment.
    5 CFR 1320.5 (General requirements) Reporting and Recordkeeping 
Requirements: Final Rule requires that the agency inform the potential 
persons who are to respond to the collection of information that such 
persons are not required to respond to the collection of information 
unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.

Proposed Collection

    Title: Contraception and Infertility Research Loan Repayment 
Program. Type of Information Collection Request: Revision (OMB No. 
0925-0440, Exp.
12/31/99). Form Number: NIH 2756-1, NIH 2756-2. Need and Use of 
Information Collection:
    The information proposed for collection will be used by NICHD to 
determine an applicant's eligibility for participation in the CIR-LRP. 
It will enable the NICHD to select qualified individuals for 
participation in the program, and to deliver eligible benefits. 
Frequency of Response: On occasion. Affected Public: Individuals or 
households, business or other for-profit, Not-for-profit institutions, 
and State, Local and Tribal government. Type of Respondents: Qualified 
health and allied health professional such as physicians, physician 
assistants, scientists, nurses, graduate students and postgraduate 
fellows.
    The annual burden estimates are as follows:

for the proper performance of the function of the agency, including 
whether the information will have practical utility; (2) Evaluate the 
accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed 
collection of information, including the validity of the methodology 
and assumptions used; (3) Enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of 
the information to be collected; and (4) Minimize the burden to the 
collection of information on those who are to respond, including the 
use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other 
technological collection techniques or other forms of information 
technology.
