    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Public Law 
92-463, as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the 
following meeting.

    Name: Special Emphasis Panel in Physics (1208).
    Date/Time: November 29, 1999 through December 1, 1999; 9:00 
a.m.-6:00 p.m.
    Place: Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Training and 
Conference Center, 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025.
    Type of Meeting: Closed.

    Purpose of Meeting: To provide advice and recommendations 
concerning proposals submitted to the Elementary Particle Physics 
Program for Major Research Equipment funding.
    Agenda: To review and evaluate proposals for the Elementary 
Particle Physics Program.
    Reason For Closing: The proposals being reviewed include 
information of a proprietary or confidential nature, including 
technical information; information on personnel and proprietary date 
for present and future subcontracts. These matters are exempt under 
5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and (6) of the Government in the Sunshine Act.
